Between them the brothers Barnard have over thirty years Professional Model Building experience in the building of Architectural Models, Engineering Models and Topographical Models.

As a result of years of experimentation during the process of meeting client demands for Specific Application Models, they have at their disposal a vast knowledge of materials and their applications.

Prior to establishing Inventive Studio in 2000, Paul Barnard built models for Theo Steyn Studios and Communicraft Creative Workshop in Pretoria. He also constructed prototypes and moulds for Lightweight Structures Technologies, a workshop specializing in the manufacture of carbon fiber aviation products.

Gerhard Barnard lectured in props construction at Technicon Pretoria after achieving his diploma in Theater Technology in 1989. In addition to his model building experience, he has worked in the film industry doing special effects.
